Xray of an elbow

Ever seen one? They're not great pictures. I could only try and hold still while I hold the x-rays against my ceiling light. But you get the picture.

I went to see the THIRD doctor on Monday (after my fall 11 days ago on 16 June) and this one FINALLY sent me for an x-ray. The first 2 doctors (one from Gleneagles A&E) sent me home with anti-inflammatory meds and muscle relaxant. After so many days, I still could not bend or straighten my arm! Had trouble doing simple things like washing my face, combing, putting in my contact lenses. It's more and more painful to move it.

There's an arrow showing the part where the bone might be fractured. The radiologist's report says "There is a strong suggestion of a fracture at the neck of the radius in the AP view. Advise oblique views for confirmation. The rest of the elbow is clear".

Will be seeing a specialist tomorrow to see what should be done. Sigh... And Mag & I signed up for not one but TWO(!) ladies' runs just the last few days!! One is the Shape Run that will happen on 9 Sept 2007 and the other is the Great Eastern Women 10K run on 21 Oct 2007. Let's hope that I will recover in time for them! As usual, I'm optimistic! :-)

ok. so now your fracture - was it caused by the fall, or the realignment by sinseh???

CK, Su & I had talked about how fragile our bodies have become - a small fall or twist can result in serious injury.

I don't know... but they did help my wrist heal faster. The place of the fracture is not where they were rubbing though.

The chinese way and the western way is quite different. Western is don't rub, wait until it's all healed then try to rub away the scar tissues. Chinese way is to rub and rub (ow ow ow) until dunno what...

The specialist did say that exercise within the limits of pain - and also sometimes the exercising will help the bone re-align itself. So Chinese way is probably speeding up the process but in a painful way.

I'm holding back going to see them again for my elbow because I'm such a wuss - afraid of the pain!
