Fireworks Festival Finale!

Well, tonight was the finale of this year's Fireworks Festival and the team from France put up a great show for everyone!

We had dinner early, got some shopping done at Raffles City and then enjoyed the aircon and espresso's at Spinelli's; all the while trying to ignore the constant hum of civilisation and the mad house and mayhem that was all around us.

At 8:30pm, we strolled to the padang and this time, we decided to climb up onto this 2 meter high cement support structure. We had a clear view of the sky above the padang.

There was actually a father standing there 'choping' the 'sky seat' for his daughter who went to buy drinks! LOL... But since there was space for 2 more, we struggled up, with some difficulty (short legs don't help).

We sat and watched the traffic police chasing away cars trying to create a second row of parking. Haha.. they were NOT allowed to do that tonight! Nearer to 9pm, the road was closed. The crowds just kept pouring into the padang and the road!

Again, the trees and the Esplanade blocked the lower part of the sky. Next year we shall have to find a better spot where we can see the low displays.
