Central@Clarke Quay

A new place has sprung up! What could it be??? 1 guess - a mall? LOL...

It's called Central@Clarke Quay. Plenty of Japanese restaurants here, but on a Friday night, also long queues! We put our names down for Sun with Moon and also queued at Marutama Ra-Men. As we slowly inched forward, putting our noses on the glass windows looking at other people's food and menus, Sun with Moon called! Next time we'll try Marutama (but the queuing puts us off).

Anyway, quickie post cos being Sunday night, Chewie has to be bathed!!

We had a verandah table that looks across to Clarke Quay - nice but sometimes smokey when some annoying patron lights up! We were also entertained by the screams from the G-Max Reverse Bungy at Clarke Quay. Haha...

I just had to order the Tofu Cheese Cake because of the presentation - it's served in a little bird cage!

You guys will have to explore the place yourself - there are just too many restaurants there!! But I just can't leave this place out... hehe... Our favourite Japanese dessert - Green Tea Soft Ice Cream!! Reminds us of our quest to find the best green tea ice cream at Narita airport!

It was fun watching the guys pile up the ice cream high on the cone. Takes skill!

I've tried the ramen at Marutama. The soup is good. but somehow I still like the ramen at the ramen place next to Gallery Hotel. If u wanna try Marutama u have to book or go around 6.30pm. such have place. The Hokkaido ice cream is nice and light. BUt I don;t like the layout of Central. It feels claustrophobic and reminded my of Far East Square or Lucky Plaza tyoe of old shopping mall.

Which ramen place next to Gallery Hotel? That place (Robertson Quay) is a Japanese food haven. There are SO MANY Jap restaurants there I don't even know which ones to try!

Ya.. Too cramp! The little shops remind me of those at Heeren or Orchard Cineleisure.

I reckon the ramen shop Beng said is "Miharu"? I find it too salty though. Try "Santouka" or "山頭火"- a popular ramen shop in Japan and has made its debut in The Central@clarke quay recently. I've tried the shoyu soup with the pork-cheek meat. Satisfying! U can spot many Japanese men slurping the whole bowl of soup down! Oh yes, the soft boiled egg is tasty too!
