When Geocaching becomes an Obsession
Ai... I obsess over new discoveries and new toys, combing the internet for any information I can find, joining in discussion groups, burying myself in details until I finally break out in cold sweat and let it go... until, of course, the next obsession comes along! I'm exaggerating of cos but this seems to be my habit, according to close friends. Hey, to me it's just normal. hehe.. I used to be worse!
My latest (dare I say it) obsession is geocaching. It's in some previous post I wrote briefly about. Basically it's like treasure hunting with a GPS receiver. In the short time that we've been geocaching, we've come across some pretty interesting caches in Singapore...
Our very first geocache - our initiation into the geocaching world. The excitement of the hunt, stepping into the unknown, uncharted territory, the ecstasy we feel when we find the cache, beaming like kids as we rummage through the box... Ahhhh.... there's nothing like the "first time" :
Of course we've stopped using the gloves. haha... We're still having a hard time getting over the 'eeek'-factor, sometimes giving up if we REALLY don't want to put our hands into gross-looking areas.
So did you know we have a pyramid somewhere in Singapore? Not a fake one on top of a building, but a glass one! This is at Temasek Poly in Tampines and the pyramid sits over the foyer of the auditorium and theatre below.
And runnnnnnn....! The martians are coming!!!!! I got really soakin' wet for this one.
Eeyore meets T-Rex! He might look scary here but this lizard is in bad shape - skin is torn and foam coming out of his tail.
CK even came along once on a webcam cache at Wisma Atria! Here we are getting shoo'ed away by the security guard. Guess we were causing a jam. hehe...
On a 'gold' hunt with Sarah at a Japanese Shinto Shrine. We found it! Where? You'll have to sign up for geocaching to find out ;)
Been to nice parks, adventures with the whining Chewie, admiring the Singapore skyline from a new angle.. There's always something new to learn everyday. So when will this obsession end?????? :P
